Hiroshima

Before heading back to Tokyo we stopped in Hiroshima.

I found Hiroshima emotional. The history and stories of the bombing were hard for me to comprehend.

Hatago Sakura

If you ever have a chance to visit a Ryokan please do it. 

We got lucky and found this place.  They only have 4 rooms and only serve dinner to 2 of the 4 (we missed out on dinner but get the breakfast plan)  They have 2 Michlian stars as of 2018.

The rooms have a private onsen from the near by hotsprings.

Hatago Sakura Ryokan was amazing.  We got to experience a true traditional Japanese breakfast before leaving.  The owner then drove us to the train station. He told us we were the second ever visitors from Wisconsin.  The first were just last week.
